This was his mother’s recipe and it’s fabulous! It is truly
the best sauce I have ever tasted …and I’ve tasted a lot.
2 – 28 oz cans “6 in 1 all purpose tomatoes”
2 – 28 oz cans Italian peeled plum tomatoes
1 & 1/2 Cans (6 oz) tomato paste (total 9 oz)
1 – Large sweet onion-chopped fine
3 – Cloves garlic-chopped fine
Add to taste:
Salt & pepper
Red pepper flakes
Puree tomatoes in blender. Pour into a large pot over a low heat. Saute onion in olive oil until soft – add garlic -do not brown. Add tomato paste & 6 0z water – add mixture to sauce. Add salt, pepper, red pepper & basil. Simmer 45 minutes. Serve over your favorite pasta. Enjoy!
